A downloadable game

I made this project for my first Hackathon. Team structure fell apart one day into the event and my entire group went home, so I made a new goal: learn a new language rather than create a finished product. I learned enough JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in the 20 hours after my group went home to produce this incomplete prototype.

The challenge prompt was to help car insurance customers understand insurance premium using a video game. The idea here is the user drives the car around to points of interest such accidents, mechanics, etc. to learn about how different events can affect a driver's insurance premium. Red blocks were meant to be negative impact events, green blocks were meant to be positive impact events, and the spinning coins were intended to be permanent collectibles that affect the user's driving record. There are currently no collisions other than the boundaries resetting the car to center.

I'm extremely proud of this project because I learned 3 languages, implemented tank controls, and scripted dynamic trigonometric collision detection in less than a day, though I now know I never want to code in JavaScript moving forward.
